HIT ME: 5 Reggae Songs I Just L-O-V-E!
Posted by Alexander under Love
- Barrington Levy - Here I Come In spite of the ’shubeli-dubeli-woo-hoo-hoooo’ lyrics this song ROCKS! ‘Cause i’m broad, i’m broad, i’m broader than broadway!’
- Count Ossie & the Mystic Revelation of RastafarI - Poem ‘Why is a man respected when he’s dead? Shouldn’t that respect be paid to the living instead?’ Word!
- Elephan Man - Tall Up, Tall Up Opera style tune by crazy-ass Elephant Man. Killer!
- Rhythm & Sound - Queen Version Take a big fat, uhm, set ofheadphones and blow yourselves to outer space with this one! ‘Why do youbite of more than you can chew?’
- The Maytals - Pressure Drop A classic ‘mm-hhmm-ooohh-hooo’ track. ‘It is you-hooo-hoo, it is you, hoo, hoo!’ Shhhh-pffff, shhhh-pfff. Very soulful indeed!
So much for the confession. Oh well, it still takes a nation of millions to hold Alex.back when this nerve-racking fucker at Rentenanstalt starts to ’stirup’ people with his ‘no woman, no …’ yammering! Screw him!

is 1 man (or something the like) by shabba ranks. i never managed to find the complete track but you can listen to a loop of it here. i once played this loop (with some fx-fumbling) for 5 minutes at a slivester party. aaahh, memories….

and all the other classics!
like “heads high” by mr.vegas…. “bam bam” by toots (and lots of covers) “cherry oh baby” by eric donaldson… “raise the alarm” etc.
and no reason to slag off poor bob it ain’t his fault he’s become an old people’s home summer fête cover band special!
if they weren’t so homophobic i’d also recommend capelton and sizzla and them boys…
